More Surprises Since the week had already been quite eventful I hadn’t bargained for more surprises. Nevertheless, there was more in store for us. Ncell is Nepal’s biggest telecommunication operator, whose subscriber base is equivalent to that of the four biggest operators in Finland combined. Ncell had taken notice of our trip and its goals and therefore wanted to take part in our dream of a better education system in Nepal.
Somehow we assumed that the company would give us a relatively small donation in cash, but boy were we wrong! Ncell wanted to support Fida International’s work in Nepal in the long haul with an intention to build entire schools in the forthcoming years! Stupendous! Fida International does a tremendous job helping villages to establish schools to where there are none. On the other hand, Fida also improves the standard of teaching in the already existing schools by focusing on the development of the most economically efficient school teaching. If – on top of that – Ncell will support the building of school infrastructures, these schools will be on the top of their class in Nepal! Somehow an incredibly profound thought: the children in the Shreenagar village might get a permanent school building – only because, with your help, we were able to put them into the spotlight! Media Circus In Finland, we had already answered to the questions of the press and other medias, but in Nepal we were scheduled to appear in two real live press conferences. The other assembly was organised by the embassy and the other by Ncell, and altogether about a dozen reporters interviewed us.
